I know it is past Thanksgiving and officially the Christmas season, but I forgot to post what I am thankful for on Thanksgiving Day. Now this list could go on and on since I am so blessed. But I'll try to not make this the longest post everrrrrr...

I am thankful for... a God who loves me and sent His son to die for me and give me eternal life after I leave this CrAzY world we live in.
...having a wonderful, loving family.
...amazing friends who love me no matter what and are always there for me when I need them. in the most privileged country in the world., water, shelter, clothing, car, cell phone, little things I take for granted everyday!
...a job! These days, it is a precious thing to have and not only a job but a good one, with people I like and who share the same morals and values as I do.

These are just the basic, generics but I could go on forever. I am so blessed by everythign in my life and try my hardest not to take it all for granted. I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!!

What is the world coming to!? I have listed every means of communication I have an account for or have access too. Just so you don't have to count, that's 10 (TEN) methods of communications!! And that's probably not even half! Within Facebook there is wall-to-wall, messages, and chat! Within e-mail there is a messenger systems! The list is never ending!

And yet, somehow, someway...we still can't find the words to say what we mean. We can't seem to just be able to speak freely with each other. To tell someone how we really feel about them. (I am talking about in a friendly, "Hey, I like you" kind of way, not the mean "Hey, you're ugly!!" kind of way). Ever wish you could go back in time when the boy had to walk to the girl's house and actually ask her on a date?! Like had to physically speak the words, "Would you like to go to dinner with me?" Now days we get a text that says "dnr l8r?" And we're lucky to get that much. When did typing vowels become uncool?

Ahh, gone are the days of simple romance and conversations. When did it become easier to write words rather than speak them? As a child, parents are so excited about their baby's first words, are we going to get that excited about baby's first text? or e-mail account? Ok, I exaggerate a tad, but you get my point.

The English language is the most difficult language to learn, and we, as Americans more or less have got it down! Let's learn to use is and truely speak with one another. I leave you with this quote by Joseph Priestley. He was born in 1733 and died in 1804. That's right, 1804 and even he understood what was happening to our communication. Even then!

"The more elaborate our means of communication, the less we communicate." - Joseph Priestley

Louisiana, My home sweet home!

I'm sure everyone has seen this at least once, but I just LOVE how true most of it is. It's funny when I read this and I can nod my head along and agree with all of them. I LOVE being from Louisiana and all of it's craziness!!

"You know you are from Louisiana when..."

In your car, you use the heater in the morning and the AC in the afternoon.

You greet people with "Howzyamomma'an'emdoin?"

You don't learn until high school that Mardi Gras is not a national holiday.

You believe that purple, green and gold look good together.
Your last name isn't pronounced the way it's spelled.

You know what a nutria rat is but you still pick it to represent your baseball team.

You can pronounce words like Ouachita, Natchitoches, Avoyelles, and Tchoupitoulas and you make fun of people from other states who say them wrong.

You pronounce the largest city in the state as "Nawlins."

You know those big roaches can fly, but you're able to sleep at night anyway.

You assume everyone has mosquito swarms in their backyard.

You realize the rainforest is less humid than Louisiana.
You discover that you can get a sunburn through your car window.

When out of town, you stop and ask someone where there is a drive-through Daiquiri place, and they look at you like you have three heads.

You have flood insurance.

Your sunglasses fog up when you step outside.

No matter where else you go in the world, you are always disappointed in the food.

Your house payment is less than your air conditioning bill.

Your grandparents are called "Maw Maw" and "Paw Paw."

You judge a po-boy by the number of napkins used.

You actually know what a po-boy is.

You don't think it's odd to see live crickets or firearms being sold at a gas station.

As a personal touch... I LOVE how when I spell checked this blog the following words were hi-lighted as being misspelled: Howzyamomma'an'emdoin (this is totally a word!), Mardi Gras (seriously?!), Ouachita, Natchitoches, Avoyelles, and Tchoupitoulas (of course!), Nawlins and po-boy. I mean seriously...they need a cajun dictionary!

Halloween has come and gone and I think everyone had a GREAT night! Everyone came dressed in awesome costumes and good ole fun was had by everyone. The only way to truely describe Halloween is to see the pictures, so here are some of my favorite of the night...

To start off the weekend we went to the fair to see the Randy Rogers Band (one of my favorites). I haven't been to the revel in YEARS so it was fun to see the sights and enjoy a good concert.

These are my girls! My Favorites! My lifelines! In my opinion the cutest girls of the night ;) We have a flapper, a gansta, a baseball playa, Oktoberfest gal, and a cat!

You know you have seen the Six Flags commercial with the crazy old man dancing....yes, he was at the party! Haha! I loved his costume!

This is Amber, my lil gansta. I looooved the teardrops she put on her face. Thug life.

This is Krysta, my wittle kitty cat!

This is Josh, the creepy 80's gym teacher. HA!

And Andrew...the "oompah doopah dopity do" oompah loompah!

Probably one of the best of the night...Jeremey as Rick James!

Ridge as Joe Dirt and Jessica as a Flapper!

Also present that night: Hannah Monatana (a boy dressed as her...), Michael Jackson (red suite and sparkley glove), several firefighters, flight attendant, poison ivy, trailor trash, the 3 ninjas, Lil Wayne, Lady Gaga, THE Burger King, Nick Jonas, a bearded lady, a priest and Amish man...list goes on and on...
